Malefa Mlotywa (25) originally from Katlehong in Zonkizizwe and currently based in Parktown, Johannesburg joined the Youth Health Africa programme in 2020. As a Data Capturing Intern working in various clinics, her main duties included data clean up, capturing patients’ files for TB/HIV, compiling daily stats, capturing the HTS book from the counsellors, filing patients’ blood results from their files and ensuring that data is accurate and effective.

During the internship program, she gained interpersonal, time management and organizational skills as well as computer skills which have all assisted her in her workplace development. Her biggest highlight was receiving recognition from her line manager for her passion and efficient work ethic. Since completing her internship, Malefa has since been absorbed by Youth Health Africa in a full-time position as a Youth Officer.
