Youth Health Africa is a leading youth development and empowerment organisation in the health sector. The team of passionate, creative, tech-savvy and courageous individuals are committed to ending youth unemployment and HIV across Africa in our lifetime. YHA actively decreases the spread of HIV and reduces the high levels of youth unemployment through a large-scale holistic program which equips youth from heavily-burdened communities over with knowledge and education about HIV and AIDS; as well as work experience. Youth are placed in entry-level roles in healthcare facilities across the country. We partner with PEPFAR and other Health Implementer especially in the 27 highly burdened HIV priority districts and the Department of Health.
While youth are placed into entry-level roles, these roles are of importance with healthcare as youth directly contribute to management of HIV and TB. Their contributions have a direct impact on South Africa achieving the UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets. This is a crucial and significant initiative as it not only addresses critical African challenges as outlined by the African Union Agenda 2063, but also aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
